The lagoon Beaches around us includes the beaches stretching from the western extreme of the lagoon windsurfing pond, to the eastern end adjacent with the play area at the lagoon. This good venue near to the Hove Deep Sea Anglers Boating club, were they go out  once a week to fish there compertion. There are a wide range of species which can be caught using a small range of tactics and almost any bait. The venue does have its more common species as well as some rarities; these are Channel whiting (from September to around March), Flatfish, and especially Flounder, available for most of the year, the usual Pout and Rockling, Eels and Dogfish. Some of the less common, more seasonal species include Black bream, Thornbacks, Rays, Bass, and Codling if you are lucky.  Tactics include mainly the use of standard beach fishing gear, which can be brought from lagoon bait for as little as 30 pounds, and casting as far as possible. Baits used can range from the standard shop bought or freshly dug Black lugworm or King Ragworm, to the more specialist Peeler crab.
